While Transformer is in operation, transformer oil is subjected to electrical, thermal and mechanical stresses. In addition there are contaminations caused due to chemical interactions with windings and other solid insulations, catalyzed by high operating temperature. As a result, the original chemical properties of transformer oil changes gradually, rendering it ineffective for its intended purpose after many years. Hence this oil has to be tested periodically to ascertain its basic electrical properties, and make sure it is suitable for further use or necessary actions like filtration/ regeneration has to be done.
National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) is an autonomous body under the aegis of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, and is registered under the Societies Act 1860. NABL has been established with the objective to provide Government, Industry Associations and Industry in general with a scheme for third-party assessment of the quality and technical competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Government of India has authorized NABL as the accreditation body for Testing and Calibration Laboratories.
Perform Periodical “OIL TEST” Prevent Unplanned “ OUTAGE ”
Are your transformers healthy? Their distress signals can only be decoded by testing the transformer oil. Transformer Oil bathes every internal component and contains lot of diagnostic information. The result of Oil analysis reveals the internal condition of Transformer & helps in early detection of incipient faults. Oil Analysis is an essential Element of Preventive Transformer maintenance. All tests are performed as Per IS: 1866 in a fully equipped modern laboratory.
